Financial Industry Celebrates Lesotho Money Month Event With Employers

The Director of Corporate Affairs of the Central Bank of Lesotho, Mr. Napo Rantsane, officially opened the Lesotho Money Month Business Forum which was held at the Avani Maseru Hotel on Monday 10th October, 2017. In his remarks, the Director welcomed all participants and recognized the presence of Messrs. Bohlale Phakoe, Craig Sassman and Teboho Kobeli who were going to deliver presentations based on the theme of the event, “I take control of my money. Do You”? 

He also acknowledged that the achievement of financial inclusion, education and literacy in Lesotho could not be achieved by the financial sector alone. Therefore, he appreciated the cooperation and support of the sector to participate in this year’s event and challenged them to develop and subsequently distribute quality products and services even in the remotest areas of the country. 

In conclusion, he informed members of the business community that the financial sector has successfully implemented a number of reforms aimed at creating more opportunities for business in Lesotho such as the establishment of the Maseru Securities Market, mobile money platform and financial leasing. Finally, he urged the participants to learn about these new developments by seeking information from all licensed financial institutions and the Central Bank of Lesotho.
